A study to assess risk of diabetes mellitus among people residing in rural area in Nashik district

Backgrounds: The
WHO has stressed research on diabetes epidemiology which in turn, would be
helpful in carrying out appropriate interventions.
The silent epidemic of diabetes, a chronic
noncommunicable disease, is a serious public health challenge. In 2021, 10.5%
(537 million) of the world’s adult population (20-79 years age group) was
suffering from diabetes. The International Diabetic Federation (IDF) projected
that the proportion of diabetics will increase to 12.2% (783 million) by 2045.
Aim: The main aim of study
to find out risk of diabetes mellitus among people residing in rural area in Nashik
district.
Methods: Results were
representing at mean + standard deviation (SD). Participants demographic
variables were analyzed. the test statistical value is measured by Chi Square test
was 10.46 with d.f 3 and p value 0.015. the demographic variable height showed
significance.
Conclusion: The
finding of the study indicated that the 15 (25.00%) people having low risk 40
(66.67%) people having mid risk and 5 (8.33%) peoples having high risk of
diabetes mallitus among people residing in rural area in Nashik district.
