Aim: The aim of the study was to assess knowledge, attitude and practice on family planning among schedule caste (SC) women in selected rural communities, Sonitpur district, Assam. Methodology: A descriptive study was undertaken in rural communities of Sonitpur district of Assam among 500 SC women, selected by non-probability convenient sampling technique. The tool used for data collection was structured interview schedule that comprises of 15 demographic data and 70 items on knowledge, attitude and practice. The technique adopted for data collection was interview. Data gathered was analyzed by using descriptive and inferential statistics. The study findings revealed that majority (74.6 percent) respondents had moderately favorable attitude, 12.6 percent had favorable attitude and 12.8 percent respondents had unfavorable attitude towards family planning.
